In an attempt to curb traffic rule violations, the transport department has come out with an innovative idea of conducting counselling sessions for the offenders that will last for two hours. It has also decided to suspend license for three months for major traffic rule violations.
Supreme Court has made it mandatory to wear a helmet while driving two-wheelers and it would be implemented strictly throughout the state. He informed that for the offences pertaining to not-wearing helmet and not wearing seat belt while driving four-wheeler would be dealt with remedy of counselling.
Transport Commissioner emphasised that, the concerned driver would be called in for counseling session of two hours. When asked what exactly would be the session about when most of the drivers know these rules, Mr Agarwal said, "When a person has to skip office hours to attend counseling session for traffic rule violation, he or she would not repeat the offence."
